Pappu's Re-union

Long time no c…. that’s what I heard from my blog… so just thought of having reunion with my blog…strange idea?? Re union with own blog??? Re union with own thought process??

“Well but it’s the in thing now dude”…No... not writing the blogs..:) but re union... These days even a day after getting out of college, people meet up in re union..

Suddenly the boring lectures become “Yaadein” … the tasteless dishes in cafeteria becomes “incredible recipes of India” …. And time wasted in hostel and college becomes integral part of “Purani Jeans aur …..(Everyone one has their own answer for this fill in the blank).. KK becomes the Newton of reunion with his 3 songs (laws) of nostalgia and Chetan Bhagat’s “three friends” story books becomes “complete reference” of the conversations

Few years down the line… we still rejoice in re unions.. only difference is the place and people around ..that does change…”Yaadien” ..”Purani jeans” and “KK” still remains the same but reference to those thing does change ...

“We will be in touch.. “ That’s what Pappu said to all his college friends after having prolonged discussion with his friends on memories of college days which did include all the above filmy ingredients completing the perfect recipe of reunion. Everyone decides to add each other on social networking site…

time goes on…so does life… in spite of having “apple phone “3G” wala”….he could not manage to call any of them…

One fine day Pappu gets job offer in Singapore. He quits the exiting job. Pack his bags and before leaving for Singapore, he manages to have a re-union with his ex colleagues.

“We will be in touch…” that’s what everyone commits…

Pappu’s friend list on social networking site starts growing like population of India and with that now Pappu can even win the elections without assuring the loan waiver or free electricity to farmers.. if all of them vote for him.

One fine day while having a dinner with his 55 year old boss of his 5th company , Pappu gets phone call… “Howz life? Wassup ? long time.. what else..… dude” that’s what Pappu could manage to speak up with his 2 min long conversation with his ex roommate..

“I cant believe some years back we used to speak whole night and day about our career, studies, gossip and so on.. and today I couldn’t even speak with this guy for 2 mins…” I know that’s what you are thinking…Boss says this while looking at Pappu’s face .. lost in summer of 69.. (I mean in college days..)

“We termed that as ”world is moving fast” I am not talking about the rotational speed of earth ..but is world moving fast or we are trying to cope up the speed and lost the track of our direction”…His Boss added… “I catch up with old friends to celebrate the day as a token of ever lasting friendship but these days everything is so fast and people like it that way.. from cricket to Govinda in Mumbai … fast and glamorous ..watch it ..enjoy it ..forget it….everyone has started believing in"Good things comes in small packets".. Boss was really getting philosophical for Pappu…but somewhere in the corner of his mind.. pappu was confused.distrurbed… “At age of 55 I still feel like 18…no its not my status on gtalk..but if I feel that way…it means I have wasted 37 years of my life doing nothing”…Boss ended the conversation on this note..

Pappu thought that it was just a lecture from ex generation to gen-X..

Guys ..I even don’t know… is Pappu just the representative of fast and furious gen-X or the 55-year old boss (a man who “sold his Ferrari” ) is actually making sense?.. Do we socialize ..make friends just to indulge and then forget it (like selfish creatures) or should we value all the relations we come across?

I know it’s a perspective.. everyone does have one..about everything they do in life..some people like speed ..some may like to go slow…but at the end everyone loves to move on.. but does moving on means.. forgetting everything about the distance traveled and the journey ..its bad to reiterate everything we do , but is it even worse to ignore everything we did? Does moving on is so important ?

I even don’t know why am I writing this…. When I have good friends like you.. To read my blog and comment on it??:)

A Strange Morning………..

It was chilly Saturday morning in Mumbai,(its not breaking news. its a reality) and I opened my eyes and got shock of my life to see 4 news reporter of so called popular news channel standing just next to my bed … ignoring my totally distorted shocked face, all of them started in their own style at once “ Good Morning… Aapke ghar me aapka swagat hai…” “Welcome to news you can use”… etc.. all four of them competing with each other as if who can speak louder than other.. and I couldn’t managed to gather guts to say anything… my brain ..which hardly functions on weekends couldn’t put through the question “what’s happening here?”..

Suddenly all of them noticed me with my eyes wide open and hair standing straight up just like all four of them.. and at once all of them stopped talking infact shouting ..I thought its time for much needed commercial break.. but one of them asked “hey man.. How are you? Howz life? “…I was trying to recover from shock and my brain’s cpu was still trying to connect to i/o ..I mean my mouth… and the other person said “speak up..” his friend added “ Generally ..we never give time to other person to speak but since you are the host and we are the guest in this room.. we are giving you this opportunity” and the first person responded “ after all over aim is to make CM speak( “Common Man”..someone sent sms like that few days back) ”

“ aaaaa…..Laaife is good .. I mean…routine….infact monotonous ..” I managed to answer their question very honestly..and all of them got charged up and bit furious after hearing my reply…”how can it be monotonus ??” we try our best to make your life happening.. anyways.. today we are going to give you top 5 news of the hour..right here..right now.. only thought came to my mind at that time was ..”if you cant escape through the … torture.. stay back and enjoy!!!…”

“Lets start with news no 5” said one of them

And suddenly the forth person who was looking very horrible and frightening and wasn’t very active in the conversation started “ Son.. sani…(he paused and suddenly remembered the name )..sani.ya mirza.. Aus open match jeet gayi hai 6-1,6-2

And the news no 4..he roared literally..

“3 farmers committed the suicide…. in Mumbai” …(“what?? I wondered farmers committed suicide in mumbai?i never saw neither farms nor farmers in Mumbai)….

well I just didn’t hear that correctly as other news reporter was giving news no3 about Mumbai and both things just got mixed or did he actually said that… now you cant blame common man I mean me for that..

and the news no 2 “ jandaar dauwala ne kaha hai saal 2008 bohot hi accha ho ga safe ali kapoor ke liye.. unke rahu ketu aur shani .. “mauja hi mauja” ga rahe hai “

and the no 1 news of the hour “a miracle… a cow gave birth to 5 calves at a time ”and the other interrupted “… no 6 calves at a time” the third person said “ 7 calves infact” the other guy said “let it be but we are the fastest to bring that news “ by the time 3rd person relaised that 7th calf was of some other cow ..so he kept mum…

He said, we are going to discuss about this miracle and and for the discussion we will have top x model of bollywood ms Tuja in our studios…….

I wondered.. is that no 1 news of the hour? How common man is supposed to react on that? But the one of them replied “we see to it that you don’t get bored and so we generally don’t cover news from rural India or problems faced by common man of India”.. You know after all “jo bikta hai wahi dikhta hai I mean dikhata hai ”…

I was desperately started looking around for remote control.. And by the time I found that all of them disappeared.. I had a look at a button which we used for changing the channels and I realized that “small things (like this button) really makes difference in our life.. and why “Tom n Jerry” on cartoon channel and “African safari” on discovery are our favorites..

4 D Media

One day, I came back home, and saw my mom dad watching a program on television which had drama action romance almost everything ,a formula , which makes shahrukh’s and Govinda’s movies a “super hit” at box office. I wonder is it some ‘K’ Kapoor daily soap or my mom dad actually watching a movie. I was shocked when I saw that it was one of India’s leading news channels “Breaking News “show. And this is what 4-D media is all about .

There was a time when a news paper was the only popular medium to know what is happening outside your home, society, city after that very few bothered to know whats happening in country etc. This was the scenario just 12-15 years back. I suppose this was the time when information and media was 2 – D. Then watching news on dedicated news channel was in thing. The enthusiasm of the reporters forced all of us to think that the world is changing and Media has the power to explore and bring the facts from any part of the world which would have gone unnoticed. We were fascinated by this new trend.

.”News presented with own views” with addition of drama and unnecessary action makes today’s 4 – D media” This is like “Buy 1 get 1 free Offer” there is one actual news and 1 news created on perception , imagination so on..and what we get is 4-D news… Wow….and ….i got something to write about.. and its on its way….
