Long time no c…. that’s what I heard from my blog… so just thought of having reunion with my blog…strange idea?? Re union with own blog??? Re union with own thought process??
“Well but it’s the in thing now dude”…No... not writing the blogs..:) but re union... These days even a day after getting out of college, people meet up in re union..
Suddenly the boring lectures become “Yaadein” … the tasteless dishes in cafeteria becomes “incredible recipes of India” …. And time wasted in hostel and college becomes integral part of “Purani Jeans aur …..(Everyone one has their own answer for this fill in the blank).. KK becomes the Newton of reunion with his 3 songs (laws) of nostalgia and Chetan Bhagat’s “three friends” story books becomes “complete reference” of the conversations
Few years down the line… we still rejoice in re unions.. only difference is the place and people around ..that does change…”Yaadien” ..”Purani jeans” and “KK” still remains the same but reference to those thing does change ...
“We will be in touch.. “ That’s what Pappu said to all his college friends after having prolonged discussion with his friends on memories of college days which did include all the above filmy ingredients completing the perfect recipe of reunion. Everyone decides to add each other on social networking site…
time goes on…so does life… in spite of having “apple phone “3G” wala”….he could not manage to call any of them…
One fine day Pappu gets job offer in Singapore. He quits the exiting job. Pack his bags and before leaving for Singapore, he manages to have a re-union with his ex colleagues.
“We will be in touch…” that’s what everyone commits…
Pappu’s friend list on social networking site starts growing like population of India and with that now Pappu can even win the elections without assuring the loan waiver or free electricity to farmers.. if all of them vote for him.
One fine day while having a dinner with his 55 year old boss of his 5th company , Pappu gets phone call… “Howz life? Wassup ? long time.. what else..… dude” that’s what Pappu could manage to speak up with his 2 min long conversation with his ex roommate..
“I cant believe some years back we used to speak whole night and day about our career, studies, gossip and so on.. and today I couldn’t even speak with this guy for 2 mins…” I know that’s what you are thinking…Boss says this while looking at Pappu’s face .. lost in summer of 69.. (I mean in college days..)
“We termed that as ”world is moving fast” I am not talking about the rotational speed of earth ..but is world moving fast or we are trying to cope up the speed and lost the track of our direction”…His Boss added… “I catch up with old friends to celebrate the day as a token of ever lasting friendship but these days everything is so fast and people like it that way.. from cricket to Govinda in Mumbai … fast and glamorous ..watch it ..enjoy it ..forget it….everyone has started believing in"Good things comes in small packets".. Boss was really getting philosophical for Pappu…but somewhere in the corner of his mind.. pappu was confused.distrurbed… “At age of 55 I still feel like 18…no its not my status on gtalk..but if I feel that way…it means I have wasted 37 years of my life doing nothing”…Boss ended the conversation on this note..
Pappu thought that it was just a lecture from ex generation to gen-X..
Guys ..I even don’t know… is Pappu just the representative of fast and furious gen-X or the 55-year old boss (a man who “sold his Ferrari” ) is actually making sense?.. Do we socialize ..make friends just to indulge and then forget it (like selfish creatures) or should we value all the relations we come across?
I know it’s a perspective.. everyone does have one..about everything they do in life..some people like speed ..some may like to go slow…but at the end everyone loves to move on.. but does moving on means.. forgetting everything about the distance traveled and the journey ..its bad to reiterate everything we do , but is it even worse to ignore everything we did? Does moving on is so important ?
I even don’t know why am I writing this…. When I have good friends like you.. To read my blog and comment on it??:)

Seriously a very nice thought.
Heyy its a very good blog after a while.... You have portrayed the exact mindset of gen-x guys like us. n its absolutely true that while maintaining the vigorous pace in our professional life we don’t have time to keep the rhythm with our old buddies even if we wish to... The way you have correlated pappu with us is extremely awesome...
good going buddy....
You brought back memories from SCIT, I hope you do remember the evening of the Convocation.
"We will be in touch" hahaha
I don't think there are people who are mean enuff to say this, but not mean it.
Increasing distances, busy work schedules, changing priorites, ego clashes. You can have plenty of reasons for not staying in touch, but you cannot have excuses.
I really liked the take on orkut users, expaning their networks.
Woh!!....is it touching or wat??...How come u wrote such a gud one??..;)
A very nice one.... N very true!!!!
